Students from more than 50 countries are studying in Uzbekistan

A total of 24,647 international students are currently enrolled at higher education institutions across Uzbekistan.

Indian students make up the largest share, with 13,060 students, followed by students from Turkmenistan (4,884), Pakistan (1,165), and Kazakhstan (1,129).

Medicine is the most popular field of study among international students. A total of 16,476 international students — nearly 67% of all international students in Uzbekistan — are pursuing medical education.

The highest numbers of international students are enrolled at Tashkent State Medical University (4,155), Samarkand State Medical University (4,153), TIIAME National Research University (2,886), Bukhara State Medical Institute (2,178), and National University of Uzbekistan (1,917).

The TOP 10 higher education institutions by international student enrollment also include Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health, Andijan State Medical Institute, Urgench State Medical Institute, the Termez branch of Tashkent State Medical University, and Tashkent State University of Economics.
