Regardless of departmental affiliation and organizational-legal form, secondary specialized, vocational, higher, and postgraduate education institutions, as well as institutions providing professional retraining and advanced training, along with their educational programs, are subject to comprehensive and specialized state accreditation.
Comprehensive state accreditation is conducted once every 5 years. Specialized state accreditation is conducted for newly introduced educational programs before the start of the educational process.
Applications are accepted electronically through the Agency’s “Accreditation” platform.
Applications for specialized state accreditation are accepted annually from October 1 to January 31 of the following year.
Applications for comprehensive state accreditation are accepted until September 15 of the academic year preceding the academic year in which the certificate of accreditation of the educational institution expires.
Internal evaluation is the process through which an educational institution monitors, analyzes, evaluates, and improves the effectiveness of its activities based on established internal quality assurance criteria.
Based on the results of the internal evaluation, the educational institution submits a report and relevant materials electronically to the Agency within the following timeframes:
External evaluation is carried out by the expert commission through an on-site visit.
Specialized state accreditation – conducted within a period not exceeding five working days.
Comprehensive state accreditation – conducted within a period not exceeding ten working days.
Based on the final report prepared following the external evaluation, a conclusion is formed. To review this conclusion and make the final decision on granting state accreditation to the educational institution (or educational program), a permanently operating Accreditation Commission is established under the Agency.
If each evaluation area is recognized as “compliant” by the Accreditation Commission, the educational institution (program) is considered to have “passed state accreditation.” If it is recognized as “non-compliant,” it is considered to have “not passed state accreditation.”
When an educational institution (program) is recognized as having “passed state accreditation,” a certificate confirming state accreditation is issued to the educational institution.
The certificate remains valid until the next comprehensive state accreditation is conducted.
In addition to recognizing the compliance of the activities of educational institutions with state education standards, state education requirements, and educational programs, the Accreditation Commission also determines the institution’s status.
Based on the conclusions of the Accreditation Commission, a publicly accessible “State Accreditation Register” is maintained on the Agency’s official website. The State Accreditation Register includes information on whether educational institutions (programs) have passed or not passed state accreditation, as well as the final report.
