A bilateral meeting was held between the National for Quality Assurance Agency in Education and the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA). The meeting focused on advancing transnational education in today’s global academic environment, improving quality assurance systems, and expanding international cooperation.
During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on current trends in the global education landscape, innovative mechanisms for quality assurance, and ways to align the national education system with international standards. In particular, expanding transnational education programs, strengthening academic collaboration, and enhancing quality assessment systems based on international benchmarks were identified as key priorities.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to establish cooperation across several priority areas. These include the joint development of modern curricula and professional standards for higher and vocational education institutions in line with international benchmarks, as well as the implementation of comprehensive training and capacity-building programs aimed at strengthening expertise in quality assurance, accreditation, and monitoring systems.
Special attention was also given to promoting academic mobility, facilitating the exchange of students and faculty, introducing work-based learning mechanisms, and developing modern training and practical facilities to enhance applied and industry-oriented skills.
Furthermore, the parties identified as key priorities the further improvement of the national education system based on international quality assurance standards, including ESG and EQAVET principles, deepening integration with global accreditation systems, and expanding scientific cooperation through the joint organization of international conferences, forums, and symposiums.
The sides also reached agreements on the development of transnational education (TNE) programs, implementation of joint academic programs, establishment of joint institutions, and promotion of innovative academic projects, as well as the systematic organization of official visits and experience-sharing initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the parties was signed. This document reflects long-term objectives focused on enhancing quality assurance in education, advancing transnational education, and elevating international collaboration to a new level.
In accordance with the Memorandum, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education will actively participate in international platforms, exchange programs, and joint initiatives.
This partnership will contribute to accelerating the international integration of Uzbekistan’s education system, increasing its global competitiveness, and further developing its quality assurance framework based on advanced international practices.
At the same time, specific projects and future initiatives to be implemented within the framework of this cooperation were agreed upon, marking an important step toward further improving the national education system and ensuring its position in the global arena.
