Within the framework of the National Employer Survey conducted by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, comprehensive field studies were carried out in enterprises and organizations across Navoi Region where graduates of Navoi State University of Mining and Technologies and Navoi State University are employed. The primary objective of these studies is to assess graduates’ competitiveness in the labour market, the level of their professional training, practical skills, adaptability to modern industrial processes, and the actual needs and expectations of employers.
Representatives of the universities, together with Diyor Umarov, a responsible official of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, visited Gidro Stanko Servis LLC, where they held discussions with the company’s management and technical specialists. The meeting focused on the professional competencies of university graduates employed at the enterprise, their adaptability to production processes, their ability to work with modern technologies, teamwork culture, and capacity to apply innovative approaches in the workplace.
Employers also presented a number of proposals and recommendations aimed at improving educational programmes, expanding internship opportunities, developing elements of dual education, strengthening the practical training of graduates, and shaping competencies that correspond to the evolving needs of industry. These recommendations serve as an important resource for aligning higher education with the demands of the labour market.
The studies were subsequently continued at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant and Navoiyuran State Enterprise. Meetings held at these major industrial enterprises focused on evaluating the knowledge, practical skills, professional adaptability, and workplace performance of young specialists, as well as on strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and employers.
According to Diyor Umarov, Head of Division at the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, the National Employer Survey is being conducted on a nationwide scale with the participation of more than 100 specially trained experts.
“The main objective of the survey is to improve the quality of education and ensure that the system of workforce training is aligned with the needs of the labour market. The survey results will also be taken into account in the future national ranking of higher education institutions,” said Diyor Umarov.
As part of the survey, another meeting was held at Navoi State University, where university administrators and representatives of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education discussed issues related to aligning educational programmes with labour market requirements, improving graduate employability, and strengthening cooperation with employers.
In addition, a meeting was held with Nodir Niyazov, Head of the Navoi Regional Department of Culture, during which the participants exchanged views on the professional preparation, practical skills, and creative potential of university graduates working in the cultural sector. Mr. Niyazov gave a positive assessment of the graduates’ professional competencies and emphasized the importance of developing creative thinking, initiative, and innovative approaches in response to the demands of the modern labour market.
