On June 3, 2026, an international seminar-training titled “From Principles to Practice: Quality Assurance Management and the Path to International Accreditation in Higher Education Institutions” was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tashkent. The event was organized by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), Germany.
The seminar brought together more than 200 representatives of higher education institutions, including international experts, vice-rectors for international cooperation, managers responsible for quality assurance, and other specialists in the field.
Among the participants were Dr. Nina Rotermund, Managing Director of FIBAA, and Yulia Bleshmud, Head of the International Accreditation Processes Department at FIBAA. FIBAA has extensive experience in conducting seminars, expert programs, and capacity-building initiatives on quality assurance, institutional development, and international accreditation for higher education institutions across Europe, Central Asia, and other regions.
The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance quality assurance systems in higher education institutions, strengthen internal quality assurance mechanisms, introduce participants to international accreditation standards and best practices, and facilitate the exchange of international experience in institutional development.
As part of the seminar program, international experts delivered presentations on modern approaches to quality assurance in higher education, institutional governance mechanisms, and international accreditation standards. In addition, practical workshops led by FIBAA experts focused on the international accreditation of academic programs, preparation of self-assessment reports, readiness for external expert visits, and the effective organization of internal quality assurance systems.
The event also included question-and-answer sessions, networking opportunities, experience-sharing meetings among higher education institutions, and discussions aimed at expanding international cooperation.
A significant highlight of the seminar was the official signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).
For reference, FIBAA was established by business associations from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
