Admission to technical colleges varies significantly across regions

Last academic year, the overall implementation rate of the admission plan for technical colleges reached 84.9%. However, there were considerable disparities across regions.

The admission plan was fully achieved (100%) in the Fergana and Samarkand regions. The implementation rate reached 96% in the Bukhara and Andijan regions, 93% in the Jizzakh region, and 92% in the Namangan region.

At the same time, the admission plan was fulfilled at only 65% in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 70% in the Khorezm region and Tashkent City, and 72% in the Navoi region.

The gap between the highest and lowest regional performance amounted to 35 percentage points. In other words, while some regions fully met their admission targets, nearly one out of every three available places remained vacant in the region with the lowest performance.

These disparities highlight the need for a more comprehensive analysis of admission planning, labour market demand for occupations, career guidance initiatives, and the specific workforce needs of each region.
