A two-day training course on “Principles of Quality Assurance” was held for all employees of the National Agency for Education Quality Assurance under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and heads of departments for improving education quality in higher education institutions.
The training was organized in collaboration with qualified experts from the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and the British Council.
The main goal of these training courses was to create a solid theoretical and practical foundation for participants in international principles of quality assurance in higher education. Over the course of two days, participants thoroughly studied internal and external quality assurance systems, evidence-based approaches to evaluation processes, working with stakeholders, and making informed decisions.
The program was based on interactive practical exercises, group discussions and case studies, and participants had the opportunity to analyze the coherence and differences between the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) and the quality standards being formed in Uzbekistan. They also strengthened practical skills in external evaluation processes, development of assessment criteria and rating tools, and preparation of objective and evidence-based reports.
During the training, the principles of integrity and transparency in the quality assurance process, prevention of conflicts of interest, as well as ensuring data security and confidentiality were discussed. In addition, practical exercises were organized on involving students, employers and other stakeholders in quality assurance processes and conducting effective dialogue with them.
Certificates were awarded to participants who fully participated in all sessions.
This seminar-training was one of the important steps towards strengthening the quality assurance system of higher education in Uzbekistan based on international standards, increasing the institutional capacity of the Agency, and developing a quality culture.
