ZEvA is an independent evaluation and accreditation agency based in Germany, specializing in external quality assessment of higher education institutions and educational programmes. The Agency is headquartered in Hanover. It is recognized by the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat) and operates in accordance with the ESG standards of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
ZEvA primarily conducts programme accreditation and system accreditation processes. The evaluation is carried out through a peer-review mechanism involving independent national and international experts. Key criteria include programme quality, learning outcomes, governance arrangements, internal quality assurance mechanisms, and student participation.
