In accordance with Decree No. PD–76 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 5, 2025, “On Additional Measures to Improve the System of Ensuring Education Quality and Providing Educational Services,” the National Quality Assurance Agency for Education has been tasked with expanding international cooperation, joining international organizations in the field of quality assessment, and ensuring international recognition of the national accreditation system.
To ensure the implementation of these tasks, expand Uzbekistan’s international integration in the field of higher education quality assurance, and align the national accreditation system with leading international practices, the Agency has achieved membership in the International Quality Group (CIQG) of the U.S. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in the United States in 1996, which deals with accreditation in higher education, academic quality, and the recognition of accrediting organizations.
The International Quality Group (CIQG) of CHEA was established in 2012 and is a professional platform specializing in developing international cooperation in the field of higher education quality assurance and accreditation.
CIQG serves to develop cooperation among quality assurance agencies, accrediting organizations, higher education institutions, government bodies, and sector experts from various countries around the world, to exchange best practices, and to improve international quality assurance mechanisms.
CHEA CIQG’s main goal is to develop global cooperation on higher education quality assurance and accreditation issues and to create a platform for professional dialogue among foreign quality assurance and accreditation agencies, government bodies, higher education institutions, and sector experts. The organization conducts analysis and research on international quality assurance policy, promotes modern approaches to institutional and programmatic accreditation, learning outcomes assessment, new educational formats, and transnational education quality assurance, and serves to strengthen academic quality standards on a global scale.
