To ensure fair competition and objective assessment in the national ranking of higher education institutions, universities were classified into categories.

According to the results of the analysis, higher education institutions were grouped on the basis of:

✍️ sectoral specialization;
✍️ student enrolment size;
✍️ the structure of fields of study.

Based on these criteria, higher education institutions were classified into the following categories:

✍️ HEIs specializing in applied sciences;
✍️ HEIs specializing in medical sciences;
✍️ HEIs specializing in social sciences and humanities;
✍️ HEIs specializing in creative and sports disciplines.
