: 2001

ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute) is an international accreditation organization operating in the field of quality assurance in higher education. It supports the development of higher education institutions in line with international standards by evaluating and accrediting universities, academic programs, and internal quality assurance systems. ACQUIN accreditation is based on the independent assessment of academic programs by external experts and is carried out in accordance with quality standards applied within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

The organization is an independent, non-profit association operating on the basis of membership by universities and educational institutions. The accreditation process is conducted with the participation of international experts and covers such criteria as curriculum content, organization of the teaching and learning process, governance arrangements, faculty capacity, research activity, and learning outcomes. The process also includes continuous monitoring, external expert review, and re-accreditation mechanisms.

ACQUIN was established in Germany in 2001 at the initiative of universities, with the main purpose of evaluating and enhancing the quality of higher education institutions and academic programs in accordance with international standards. The organization is recognized by the German Accreditation Council and operates within the European quality assurance framework. ACQUIN also carries out accreditation activities in compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and cooperates with universities in various countries.
