Ms. Dana Stroie is a senior vocational education and training (VET) policy expert and quality assurance specialist with more than two decades of experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of technical and vocational education and training systems in Romania and across Europe. She currently serves as Deputy Director of the National Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training Development (CNDIPT), Romania’s national institution responsible for supporting policy development, quality assurance, curriculum modernization, and strategic planning in vocational education and training.
Since joining the National Centre for TVET Development in 2004, Ms. Stroie has played a leading role in shaping Romania’s vocational education and training policies and reforms. Her work has focused on strategic planning, quality assurance, skills development, workforce preparedness, and strengthening the alignment between education systems and labor market needs.
At the European level, Ms. Stroie has been actively involved in numerous policy and quality assurance initiatives. She has represented Romania in key European vocational education and training structures, including the EU Directors General for Vocational Education and Training (DGVT) and the Advisory Committee for Vocational Training (ACVT). Through these roles, she has contributed to discussions on skills development, lifelong learning, quality assurance, digital transformation, and workforce competitiveness.
She also serves as coordinator of ReferNet Romania, part of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) network, supporting research, information exchange, and policy analysis on vocational education and training developments across Europe.
In addition, Ms. Stroie coordinates the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre established within the National Centre for TVET Development, facilitating international cooperation and knowledge sharing in technical and vocational education.
